Elk Rapids (E. C. Grace) Harbor is a regional resource from its creation 150 years ago. The ritual of launching boats in spring and storing them in fall is a defining reality on local roads and ramps. East Bay’s shallow, rocky, in-shore waters and high wind force boats 25+ feet into the Harbor or launched daily from ramps. Larger boats are not possible on a cottage hoist - 5,000 to 40,000 pounds, pontoons, and all larger sail boats.
