LAKE MICHIGAN WATER LEVEL DROPS 8 INCHES FROM LAST SUMMER. The Bay remains 12 inches higher than a year ago, 18 inches above average. The trend is up because of the wettest year on record (NOAA estimate) and Lake Superior outflows.  The International Board of Control set the outflow from the St. Mary’s River at the equivalent of 3 inches per month into Lake Michigan. Read more 2018 Winter News
