REMOVE BEAVER DAMS TO PROTECT MASSIVE BROOK TROUT.  Brook trout are a petite stream dwelling native species. ”Coaster” brookies, measured in feet, hatch in tributaries that feed Lake Superior, migrate to the lake to mature, then return to spawn. Beavers/dams are a major cause of degraded habitat in streams that drain into Lakes Superior, Huron, Michigan. Dams block migrating
fish, disrupt gravel beds for spawn, cut stream flow, reduce oxygen, and warm water temperature.
