INVASIVE SPECIES - SPOTTED KNAPWEED.  Spreading in sandy areas of the beach. It’s purple thistle-like blossoms crowds out native plants, and releases toxins that poison the soil. Plants pull out quite easily, but do not delay because they will be going to seed very soon. Pulled plants can be burned at high temperatures or bagged or buried deep in the ground.
