 1 foot above July Average – 4 inches over last year. Parts of the beach are submerged under 1 ft. of water; too high or about right?  Depends on your lot - there is wide variation for neighboring lots.  International Joint Commission (IJC) declined to ease water levels using its ‘Crisis Response Criteria’.  But  approved excess water release from L. Superior at the St. Mary’s River. Machine Groom? Just 2 of 664 lots - Not many with seawalls or groins. Not much macro-biotic life seen in the shallows - Few ponds are productive - Few seagulls and sandpipers alongshore.  Cause? Likely deep water Quagga mussels.  People alongshore wisely groom sand gardens by hand to balance greenery, sunbathing and play.  Residents are the first line of defense
