MICHIGAN DNR AND THE FEDERAL USDA PROTECT TROUT HABITAT. Work in stream restoration from 2018 to 2021 improved habitat in nineteen streams. Beaver dams were removed and staff are monitoring targeted areas along about two hundred acres. The intent is for stream flow to continue so that massive coaster brook trout can migrate again. USDA wildlife services will annually check-ups to protect trout habitat, migration, spawning grounds, and flow for coaster brook trout.
