MITCHELL CREEK-KEWADIN FLOW IS RESTORED TO YEAR-ROUND FLOW. Observations at road crossings and the Bay confirm water is flowing through the Creek to East Grand Traverse Bay. This result was produced with removal of dams & debris piles last year east of Cairn Hwy. near Mud Lake. The watershed once split is reconnected. Roots of valued hardwoods are dry, and basements are no longer threatened. It remains to be seen whether suckers and in- time trout will populate the stream again.
