Wisconsin Guide says mimic nature:  Slow wind erosion with wind breaks; trip waves to dissipate their power; erect sand fences in dune/beach; stabilize with Marram grass & /willows; (TNN -sandbag for temporary sills/groins); rebuild reefs/sandbars; armor shore as a high $ last resort.
